Baseball “Buddy Ball”

“Buddy Ball”, sponsored by the Baseball Club of Chatham, is for Chatham children ages 5-19 who are either physically and/or special needs challenged.
Players develop confidence and self-esteem as they become part of an organized program.
Players are assisted with a High School Sports Buddy who will assist the player swinging a bat, round bases, catch a ball, etc.
Sessions are one hour late Saturday afternoons beginning in April.

Wrestling

The Chatham Youth Wresting Club offers a number of program options for children of all ages and abilities.
The club has introductory and competitive programs during the wrestling season, which spans from November until March.  
They also offer their own Cougar Club as well as partnerships with Private Clubs during the off-season to help athletes improve their technique and wrestling knowledge.  

  • Youth Clinic (1st year), which is a introduction for young children once a week.
  • Novice Programs (K-4) and Cougar Club practices at the Mountainview Gym.
  • Travel Team Program, (Grades 5-8), practices at the Summit Middle School.

Volleyball – Women

VOLLEYBALL – Women’s

Chatham Recreation offers our Chatham residents, aged 25 and over, relaxed play volleyball.
Residents must be registered to play.
Sessions are held Monday evenings at 7:30 – Dates TBA

Trycan – Special Needs Programs

Chatham residents have been offered an opportunity, with Summit, to provide programs for children with special needs.

TryCAN was formed by a group of communities from Summit, Berkley Heights and New Providence. Summit Community Programs is the lead agency in providing the special needs programming through this 501c3 organization.

TryCAN offers a variety of recreation programs and events for youth with special needs as well as those who may need special accommodations.

Track & Field

YOUTH TRACK AND FIELD – SPRING 2025 
Registration will open on Community Pass – Register Spring. Registration will open January 22nd on Community Pass and will close on Thursday February 13th.  

Cost
: $200 per registrant – There are no refunds.

Lakeland League:
The Chatham Recreation Track and Field team is a member of the Lakeland Track and Field League, which includes other teams from Morris County. We will compete against teams within this league at all of our meets, some of them will be at home (Cougar Field) and others will be away. 

Practices:
3rd-5th Grade Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm-7:30pm Cougar Field
6th-8th Grade Monday and Wednesday 6:30pm-7:30pm Cougar Field Practices will begin the week of March 24th and the last week of practice will be May 26th (no practice Monday, May 26th because of Memorial Day). Athletes can only attend the practice for their grade group. They are not allowed to switch practice times.

Meets: Regular Season Meets (open to everyone) will be on Sundays from April 6th to May 18th. We will not have meets on Mother’s Day or Easter Sunday; however, we may reschedule those meets on Saturdays. Post Season Meets:

Tennis Lessons

Foundation and Development Tennis Lessons
Foundation Tennis is designed to introduce beginners and those with some experience to the fundamentals of tennis. Each session will focus on a specific skill including stroke technique, serving, court awareness, and rallying. (Participants will need to provide their own tennis racket for this program). 
Development Tennis is ideal for intermediate players looking to enhance their knowledge and skills.

T-Ball Squirts

T-BALL SQUIRTS (ages 2 to 5):

United Sports Institute introduces boys and girls to the game. Learn the fundamental skills of hitting and scrimmaging, throwing and catching and movement and coordination through a program of structured activities, fun based games, and scrimmages.

Softball-Spring/Summer Travel

Chatham Youth Travel Softball

The Softball Club of Chatham offers a Travel Softball Program for our Chatham residents.
Players also need to be registered and play in the spring recreation program to be eligible.

Softball – Womens

Registration for the Chatham Women’s Softball League begins in May for the summer teams.
The program is open to Chatham women aged 25 and over.
Games are played Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:30pm in Chatham and at local fields.

The season runs from late June through mid-August.

Registration is held on Community Pass.
